I, like many others, am an intersectional being. I am an African man. I eat Yoruba and Egun food and speak with a French/African accent. I have known extreme poverty and extreme wealth. I have experienced racism, anti-muslim rhetoric, and xenophobia across the world-- France, Hong Kong, Benin, and the US.
The past six weeks have been an eye-opening experience for me. Moving to a new place and adapting while also trying to keep up academically and socially can be a very challenging experience.
I love to dress well whenever I can. That's obviously something you already know by now. I sometimes feel too dressed up for some events, and people have told me that. However,
the most important thing about dressing up for any occasion is to feel comfortable in what you are wearing. It is also good to step out your comfort zone sometimes.
